Oh god. My sophomore year of high school has started, and so far, it's just as hard as everyone promised it would be. I've loaded up on Honors and APs and am feeling them. It sucks.

If you're in high school, you already know. )

What were you doing on September 11th, 2001? How do the events of that day hold meaning for you now?

I was only 8, so it a very confusing time for me. It was the day before school started, and I was playing legos with my sister while my parents were watching the news, horrified. I didn't think anything of it until I went to school and our teacher explained everything to us.

Never forget, and let us learn from such a tragedy. Today in school we had a moment of silence during the morning announcements, and they told us that we should take something as horrible and cruel as this and turn it into determination to fight it. If anything good can come out of this, it's learning and acting up.

If you could live forever how would you spend your time?

Hm... I'd blog, of course lol. I'd probably talk a lot about the past, and try to contribute to history in that way. Kinda useful to have a human history textbook. And just do what I do now, play sports, spend too much time online, hang out with friends. Who would all die.

I'm more concerned with what I'd look like- a billion year old woman. Ehh. Haha

It might suck to live forever, actually.

I notice how just about everyone has like half of their post (let's say, with icons: just the text and maybe a preview, not the icons themselves) appear on their 'recent entries' page, and then links to the post alone (or the icons)... stupid question, but I'm kind of html impaired. How do you do this? Hope it makes sense.

Horatio Caine. He'd get us home with his sunglasses. Or just shoot every evil monkey that tried to come near us. And he can't die, so I wouldn't either.

But really, if I wanted actual company and not just a way home, either Calleigh from Miami, or Catherine or Sara from CSI. I've always thought they'd be really fun to just hang out with.

So my sister had surgery to remove her tonsils today, and she just got home. Which makes me her new personal slave, ha. But she's in pain, so whatever, I'll deal.

Headers- I'm a little new to them, but these look half-decent...

If anyone has been keeping up with the Olympics...

Michael Phelps= love. Greatest Olympian alive. I am SO proud that he's from the US.

US Women's water polo team= beastly. We're in the running for he gold, after beating Australia (which is pretty amazing, considering the fact that the Aussies beat us out for the gold last year. They are really good)

US Men's water polo team= super beastly. We got a bye for the finals.

[Side not on the Olympics, water polo: if anyone HAS been watching, the announcer who doesn't talk as much, his name is Wolf Wigo. He's considered one of the greatest Olympic water polo players. He used to be on the US team, and is absolutely amazing. The water polo camp I went to at the beginning of the summer is run by him, so I met him, gave him a hug, and was taught water polo by him, in the same pool as him. Which I think if cool, haha]

That's all I really watch, ha. We get beat in just about everything else anyway. :/

To celebrate the greatest Olympian alive...

Ahhhhhhhhhhh school's over!

It was over a few weeks ago, but I've been in Pennsylvania with family and then back for a few days, then left for camp, which I got back from today. I had an amazing amazing time in both places, but it's good to be home.

Water polo camp, which I just returned from, was at UC Santa Barbara, and was great. Five girls on our team went together, and we were all in dorms with twelve girls (one dorm for all of us actually). the guys were great too (lips are sealed) and we all made new friends and enjoyed it. I learned a lot too, and the drama, however annoying and semi-traumatic (consoled a semi-suicidal girl with my friend the last night) was okay.

Hope everyone's enjoying their summer! It hit 120 F a few days ago. Ehhh I hate it when it's this hot. But for summer it's worth it :)

So things have been a lot better... even though I still hate being at home and that issue hasn't improved, I've started water polo again, I feel better, and I'm spending more time out of the house to avoid the issue.

Three day weekend! Was at Jake's last night, and now I'm gonna spend the night watching movies with friends at my house. My friend Simone has a concussion, so I'm worried about her, but I saw her for a few minutes before she left school and she semed semi-coherent.

I have icons, but can't figure out how to make an icon table thing. Anyone know how? It's so much more organized than just numbering them.

Because just about all of my friends have headers, I'll post it and hopefully someone will see.

I have my header. Now how the hell do I put it on my journal?

I would absolutely worship/love anyone who could help out. Thanks, and happy Mothers Day everyone! <3

...it's just life, so keep dancing through.

Besides the issues, school's almost over. Finals week starts the 9th of june, and ends the 11th. That week I'll be spending all the time studying with friends and walking over to the mall (since finals days are only a few hours long). There are a lot of parties coming up in the next few weeks but I've decided to let things cool down and not go for a few weekends. I plan to spend a quiet weekend at home helping my parents out around the house and seeing some friends from outside of school, who wouldn't be at the parties anyway.

Because I've decided to dedicate myself completely to water polo, I'm really excited that it's starting up again soon! On the 19th of May, summer league practices start. Then I'll start club soon after, and over this summer I'll be going to santa barbara for an overnight clinic with my team. I really can't wait to get back in the water and back to what I've missed all season.

Hope everyone has a great weekend! :)

Looking for yourself out there...

A lot has happened in the last few weeks, some of it absolutely amazing that has changed my life for the better (saw Wicked! Became closer to friends! Got a 4.2 on my last progress report!) but most of it terrible stuff that has crushed all the good stuff and stuff that I don't want to share on the internet. Friends are being supportive, but there's only so much I can say without feeling like I'm dragging them down. Just getting it off my chest.

EHHH.

So y'know how I was talking about how my softball team hasn't won a game in two years?

Here's today: I go up to bat in the first inning and foul the ball off right into my foot. I was taken out, and even now, I can't walk. I might have to go to the emergency room if it doesn't start feeling better by tomorrow. Right in time for our weekend tournament. Coach tells me it's probably a fracture.

But we ended up winning (guess I'm cursed!) We broke the losing streak, which is really exciting.

Other than that, projects, and boys, and drama, and boys. And projects. And boys.

A lot has happened since sunday- good and bad. I got my first detention- long story short, my English teacher told us that we'd be watching a movie on Monday, and so I didn't bring my book. Then she changes the plans on us and I get a detention since I didn't have my book. It wasn't that bad, but it was a big deal to me since I've never had one before.

Last night the water polo sports awards took place- and it was amazing. The coach talked about how, as a freshman, he didn't expect much, but that I became one of the best players and was able to do things in the game he'd never taught me. It was incredible, how much he gushed about me, and made me so happy. Then when the awards were given out, out of sophomores, juniors, and all the other freshman, and out of best offensive/defensive, most improved, coaches award and most outstanding, I got most outstanding. He gushed even more- about amazing shots where he went crazy on the bench, about how much of a hard worker I was, and how he felt that I could be an amazing player in college. Everyone cheered and screamed my name during the walk to the podium- it was a great experience. I was so happy.

And then today I had to write an English essay in class as the last class before spring break, and it went well- then I got back my essay from last month and got the highest grade in the class- a 95, and my teacher is a hard-ass; the average was 83.

Well this is the end of the longest week ever. Test after test, one drama filled argument after another. My birthday was filled with people crying and complaining about one another, and so it was pretty suckish. However, my friend Sebastian gave me a great gift (it helps that his mom owns Sephora). My parents gave me an iPod, which I needed, and it ended up being okay.

So this past week was filled with tests and more losses in softball. But I met my friend Annie's boyfriend, Donald, who's really sweet, and had a good week with friends, and rescheduled with Daniel, the guy I'm into, for spring break. Last Sunday, Seb, Elana and Simone came over and we hung out, and now I'm finally at Karina's. We went to Ralphs to get dinner and had to walk all the way back to get her credit card since she brought the wrong one. Now we're cooking and tired. Tonight is going to be fun though!

So it's been awhile, but a lot has happened- and it's too early and I don't have enough time to type it all up. I made the softball team, but practices suck because I've been taken out of my position (as well as a lot of my friends) and I've lost my love for the game because I love water polo so much more. Even though I'm good at softball, next year I'm going to do swim team in order to continue water polo training, as my spring sport. Trying to set up private lessons with my coach for the offseason asap.

The finals went well, and the new semester has started. I guess I like my new classes okay, but it's a lot harder and the past few weeks have been hell thanks to tests and video projects, which are going to be shown in class today. I'm stressing out so much, i can't even describe it.

On top of school stress, it's been a long time since I've seen a lot of my friends... especially Karina. She's at boarding school. *pokes Karina*

But I'm going to hang out with the guy im into next friday, so that will be fun. Looking forward to that.

And this friday is my birthday... what perfect timing, when everything seems to suck.

So that's it I guess. Oh, and I'm in love with David Archuleta. <3 *le sigh*
